There’s been some shuffling of Republican candidates in the campaign for local offices in Eagle County in recent weeks. As a result, the GOP slate has been cleared of one primary race — and the state House of Representatives race for the district including Eagle County has a different look.
“Our original candidate (Scott Davison of Eagle) withdrew from the (House District 26) race, and James Kellogg was nominated and enthusiastically accepted the nomination,” Eagle County Republican Party Chair Dan King wrote in an email. “This is a strong outcome for us, as it also means there will be no primary for the District 3 Commissioner seat.”
As previously reported by the Vail Daily, Kellogg — a Gypsum engineer and third chair on the Eagle County GOP Board — had been slated to take on Wendy Sacks in the Eagle County Primary Election on June 30.
